Atjong suffered a huge upset as he settled for 3rd place to clinch gold to bronze medal for his country.
He established a head start as he took the first position starting from the first jump on the tracks.
He took a change on the first and second lap to consume his fuel and get drained for the 3d lap.
Atjong trained himself making him unable to get a second wind to maintain his lead for the ast 500m.
In the 30th jump from the tracks, he started to slow down as he oved to the 3rd place in 8:13 minutes.
Atjong suffered in the last 300m and run as a 3rd placer as he touch over the finish line.
